Here we go again.
I thought after last year (trying to create something every day for a year) that I was done with these Instagram fads, but low and behold I got hooked again. This time I was making animations for 36 Days of Type. For the uneducated, 36 Days of Type is basically what it sounds like. You create each letter of the alphabet and all 10 numbers throughout the 36 days, going in order. You might be thinking to yourself, "Wait, isn't this blog entry titled '26 Days of Type'?" Yes! It is! And here's why. Essentially I got burnt out again. Honestly, I was pretty burnt out halfway through but by then it was too late to not finish. I honestly, loved the project and what I made and seeing what others were making. It's just that doing these daily exercises can be both healthy and unhealthy at the same time. While I think Instagram and other internet platforms can be a great way to spread and share artwork, we can often become bogged down with comparing ourselves to others or trying to make the next cool thing for a few more likes. It's good to remember to take a break every once and a while, maybe make something you don't share with anyone. Something just for you?
Anyways, I made a compilation of my 26 Days of Animated Type. You can watch it below.
